Jake Mills

Jeremiah “Jake” Mills is the EMS Education Coordinator for Rice Emergency Medical Services. Mr. Mills supports the EMS instruction, continuing education, and clinical skills training programs for Rice EMS members and EMSP 281/282 students.

Mr. Mills brings nearly three decades of experience in emergency medical services, military medicine, and healthcare operations. He began his career in the United States Navy as a Shipboard Firefighter before becoming a Hospital Corpsman. He served four combat deployments and retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer after more than twenty years of military service. Throughout his career, Mr. Mills has led healthcare operations and training programs in both military and civilian settings. His experience includes managing healthcare clinics and medical programs in the United States and overseas, serving as an executive medicine coordinator and liaison within the United States Special Operations Command, overseeing medical planning for large-scale events and operations, and developing training programs and professional standards for medical personnel.

Mr. Mills served for nearly fifteen years as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the City of Clearwater, Florida, and later as a paramedic within the Pinellas County 911 system. Mr. Mills holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Public Safety Administration and an Associate of Applied Science in Emergency Management Administration from St. Petersburg College.
