Endowment
In REMS’ 20th year, the Rice University EMS Endowment was created. This was made possible with an initial gift from Dr. Mark Escott, and this fund recognizes an outstanding graduating REMS senior with an award to be applied to post-baccalaureate education. REMS has raised over $30,000 in cash and pledges toward this fund, and the endowment is now fully-funded.

Thank you so much for your support!
From the first emergency call on October 4, 1996, REMS has grown into an established First Responder Organization, serving the needs of the Rice University community. The undergraduate members, the alumni who return as EMS instructors and event staff, the part-time staff, and the medical director team continue to work together to provide this critical service.
Rice University EMS (REMS) mission is to provide the Rice community with quality emergency medical care. REMS seeks to accomplish this goal through rapid response to calls for emergency service, special event coverage, education of the Rice community, and a commitment to compassionate patient care, quality improvement, and professionalism.
This call to action has changed and grown since REMS was first started. Countless hours of service, countless trips around the loop on the golf cart, countless dedicated students, alumni, and staff that continue to work to make this possible!
We’re excited to see what the future of REMS has in store for us!
