Dr. Louis Fornage

Dr. Louis Fornage, MD (Brown ’12) is an Associate Medical Director for Rice EMS. He is
board certified in Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services. He was born
in Houston and attended Rice University, followed by Baylor College of Medicine.
During these years, he obtained his AEMT license and volunteered with Rice EMS and
local 911 services. He was also invested in training the incoming EMT classes both in
the classroom and in the hospital during clinical rotations. After graduating from medical
school, he left Texas for a few years to complete his residency at Wake Forest Baptist
Medical Center in Winston-Salem (NC) and his fellowship at Washington University in St
Louis (MO).

Now that he is back in Houston, he is an assistant professor at Baylor
College of Medicine and works clinically in the ER at Baylor St Luke’s Medical Center,
Ben Taub Hospital and Texas Children’s Hospital. He is thrilled to have the opportunity
to give back to the undergraduate community, and Rice EMS in particular. He is
passionate about education and sharing the clinical knowledge he has gained over his
career. He hopes to give undergraduate students a better understanding of how unique
Emergency Medicine is, especially in the prehospital setting.
