Leadership Team

REMS has three ranks on the leadership team – Incharge (I.C.), Lieutenant, and Coordinator. The Incharge is an operational rank referring to the provider in command of a scene. The on-duty I.C. responds in the marked REMS vehicle that carries advanced medical equipment and approves all patient care decisions during their shift. The I.C. is an Advanced Life Support provider (an Advanced EMT or Paramedic).

The rank of Lieutenant is given to members of the department who are responsible for managing separate functional areas of EMS and are collectively responsible for the operational, educational, and administrative needs of the organization.

The rank of Coordinator is given to active Duty Crew Members of the department who are responsible for a specific administrative area of the organization.  Some functional areas also have Assistants, who work in a specific area to support education, field training, etc.
